Romance Novels Teach Women Business

Released on: April 5, 2008, 8:06 am

Press Release Author: Kimber Chin

Industry: Small Business

Press Release Summary: Kimber Chin shares business lessons with women readers in her
romance novels.

Press Release Body: If an author wanted to share business lessons with other women,
what section of the bookstore should she target: business or romance?

Kimber Chin thinks it should be the romance section.

According to the Romance Writers Of America, 24.6% of all books sold in 2006 were
romance. With the exception of religion/inspirational, that makes romance the
largest market category. 78% of those readers were female, women who could be
starting up new businesses or leading existing companies.

With two decades in new business development, Kimber Chin has many lessons to share
with aspiring entrepreneurs. These lessons could benefit a wider range of readers
than the regular business book buying crowd. However, wrapping business lessons in
a romance shell is not as easy as it sounds.

"My publisher, Champagne Books, bought Breach Of Trust based on the story," says the
author, "not the lessons included. It had to be solid, page turning romance novel
first and foremost."

Breach Of Trust, her first romance novel based in the business world, will be
available May 1st. Leading up to and during the release, Kimber Chin will have
fresh, free reads on her website http://businessromance.com/ every Wednesday.
